As it is stated in chapter two of the text book, inovation is one of the key to competitive advantage. some key important things to remember is that inovation can be fleeting or significantly sustainable depending on how it is deployed. For instance some companies are still using the electronics clock in and out for it's employess. This system over took the manual clock in and out of employees punctuality. It is far better than the manual clock in method but companies that are stll using this kind of technology is a little procrastinated because they are not keeping their innovation current. Employees take advantage of this system by clocking in for their fellow employees even if these employees don't come to work they still get paid as long as another person uses their information or swip card. the company losses a lot of money on this system simply because their innovation is short life. The other companies that are more innovative are now using the current fingerprint clock in and out method. These companies save milions of dollars with this system because it is difficult to encounter employee fraud. Therefore the company save for other purposes than to be in a loss because of innovation fleeting. Tis made them to gain sustainable competitive advantage over other existing fleeting companies.
