Like you said, this revolution, even though it failed at first with quick and efficient Soviet intervention, it brought about the sparks of other revolutions and rebellious actions throughout the Eastern Bloc. If my history is correct, I believe the Polish October followed this event, in which after a massive anti-Stalinist movement took place, Poland was granted a degree of autonomy. Eventually, the Prague Spring would reappear in a new way years later, ousting the Soviet backed Communist party and finally establishing free elections.
